We hope you are busy working away on your iPRES 2025 contributions! The deadline for peer-reviewed submissions is 14 April 2025, End of Day, Anywhere on Earth. This includes Full Papers, Short Papers, Posters, Workshops, Tutorials, and Panels. A later call for ad-hoc contributions (lightning talks, games, Birds of a Feather community of practice discussions, digital preservation bake-off demonstrations and more) will open in June 2025.
Detailed submission instructions are available on the conference website. However, we have some new resources available to support your submissions.
iPRES 2025 Call for Contribution drop-in sessions
We will be holding open sessions with members of the iPRES Programme Committee throughout March, so you can ask questions directly. The Q&A sessions are open to all, but are optimised for different time zones.

Informal Programme Ideas and Connections spreadsheet
To help potential authors to workshop ideas or connect with one another, we have put together a Google spreadsheet that can be used as an informal tool by the iPRES Community. The spreadsheet aims to help connect individuals who might be seeking ideas, feedback, or potential collaborators for their proposals.
The spreadsheet is not actively monitored by the iPRES 2025 Programme Committee, or part of the official submission process. Any use of the spreadsheet, or contact with other potential iPRES participants, needs to abide by the iPRES 2025 Code of Conduct.
iPRES Controlled Vocabulary
For iPRES this year, we are piloting the use of a Controlled Vocabulary for keywords in submissions. The vocabulary was proposed in an iPRES 2024 poster, with the goal of promoting more consistent terminology and ultimately improving discovery and re-use across all iPRES submissions and conferences.
The Controlled Vocabulary includes a user guide in the document. Take a look through the spreadsheet and select the most specific terms that directly describe your submission's primary topics. Try to avoid selecting broad or parent-level terms when more specific options are available. You can add up to three keywords from the Vocabulary per submission. You can also add two optional non-Vocabulary terms if you wish, to identify a specific project or tool, or an important topic you feel isn’t otherwise represented. Read more about the Controlled Vocabulary here.
Programme ideas from Call to Community sessions
During the iPRES 2025 Calls to Community, we asked participants, what kinds of digital preservation topics/subjects would be most of interest to you, or are currently on your mind? And unsurprisingly, the iPRES community had lots to say!
If you’re looking for submission ideas, take a look at some of the programme topics that Call to Community participants said they would like to hear about at iPRES 2025.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We've also created an FAQ page on the News section of the conference website and will be updating it on a regular basis.
If you have any questions that aren't covered, please let us know! Send us an email at info@ipres2025.nz
We look forward to receiving your submissions!
